SEE YOU IN SPACE

The hegemonic iconography that shaped our collective imagination is fading. Something must be crossed and abandoned to pursue what has been glimpsed ahead.

The figure of the cowboy singing farewell to the moon becomes an emblem of what needs to be left behind: the solitary hero, the frontier, the romantic epic of conquest – an imaginary tied to a history of expansion, exploitation, and colonisation, now reaching its terminal phase. But the cowboy is also an intimate figure, sedimented in childhood, in play and carnival costume – a myth internalised before it was ever understood.

To represent what must be left there, on stage, is to give it one last glance before opening space to another possibility of light.
